My BIG Boy!

Cole had his 2 month appointment last Friday; he was weighed, measured, and had his first round of shots. The little bugger weighs in at 12.1 lbs and is 24 inches long!! The pediatrician estimates that Cole, based on his torso and current size, will be well over 6 feet tall! We'll see!

As for the shots, Cole did really well...much better than me! I made JT hold him during the shots because I was secretly afraid he wouldn't like me after it was over! When they poked him in his little ham hocks he only cried for a second or two - such a tough little guy! I hope the rest of his immunizations go this well!

We're so proud of you buddy and can't believe you've grown so much already!!

Buddies

These three (L to R Eli, Cole, and Emma) really have no idea how much time they will be spending together...I really hope they like each other!! Eli and Emma belong to two of my oldest and best friends - Julie and Angie - who I've known since first grade. I actually threw up on Angie in Mrs. Dale's class, and she STILL hangs out with me...now that's friendship!

Anyways, the three of us (along with Mandy - who we're waiting on to have a kiddo...no pressure if you're reading this :) managed to pull all kinds of pranks - many times on each other. Now, keep in mind, we weren't bad kids we just liked to raise a little ruckus sometimes - toilet papering houses, shoe polishing cars, you know...all the things teenagers like to do!

My point is, seeing these three together has TROUBLE written all over it. Yeah, they're small now, but I would place a friendly wager that in no time the three amigos here will be cooking up schemes and pulling the same stunts their mamas did...I can see it in their eyes ;)

It is all about ME...really, it is!

I stole this idea from Melanie and Julie's blogs...

1) What is your salad dressing of choice? Sweet Vidalia Onion and/or Honey Mustard

2) What is your favorite sit-down restaurant? Wow…I’m not picky in the food department…maybe Los Cabos

3) What food could you eat for 2 weeks straight and not get sick of? While I was pregnant I had bean burritos practically every single day. Now, not so much! Maybe a Turkey and Cheese sandwich.

4) What are your pizza toppings of choice? I’m not really one to go for the exotic toppings like pineapple, artichokes, etc…I’m pretty much a Supreme (hold the sausage) or Pepperoni pizza girl.

5) What do you like to put on your toast? Butter and honey (just like my Mama!)

6) How many televisions are in your house? Four (but only two are actually hooked up to DISH)

7) What color is your cell phone? Red

8) Are you right-handed or left-handed? Right

9) Have you ever had anything removed from your body? A mole, my tonsils, some teeth, and most recently a baby boy!

10) What is the last heavy item you lifted? Hmmm…well if “item” includes baby, then Cole, but if not, a tub of flowers.

11) Have you ever been knocked unconscious? Nope…I’ve wanted to knock someone unconscious though! Those of you that know me can probably guess who!!

12) If it were possible, would you want to know the day you were going to die? Nope

13) If you could change your name, what would you change it to? Growing up I always wanted to be Samantha or Britney, but today, I think I’ll just keep Heather, thank you very much!

14) Would you drink an entire bottle of hot sauce for $1000? Nope. $5000? Maybe.

15) How many pairs of flip flops do you own? I have NO idea!

16) What is/are your goal/s for the year? Lose this baby weight

17) Last person you talked to? Does e-mail count? If not, JT.

18) Last person you hugged? Cole when I dropped him off with my Dad.

19) Favorite Season? I really like all the Seasons – each one has something to offer.

20) Favorite Holiday? Christmas

21) Favorite day of the week? Saturday.

22) Favorite Month? I like October – the leaves are changing and there is that crisp smell in the air.

25) Do you smile often? Yeah…but I’ve been told I also furrow my brow a lot, too!

26) Do you always answer your phone? Yup…unless it is a few certain numbers…

27) It's four in the morning and you get a text message, who is it? Some drunk friend probably or a wrong number…

28) If you could change your eye color what would it be? Red…wouldn’t that be freaky? Just kidding! I don’t think I’d change my eye color.

29) What flavor drink do you get at Sonic? A Diet Dr. Pepper

30) Have you ever had a pet fish? Yup! Gold fish when I was little, and in college I had a Beta that I made fight with itself – please don’t call PETA!

31) Favorite Christmas song? “White Christmas” – might be my favorite movie, too!

33) Can you do push ups? Not very well!

34) Can you do a chin up? Not very well!

35) Does the future make you more nervous or excited? Excited.

36) Do you have any saved texts? Yup…I’m really bad about deleting them for some reason…

37) Ever been in a car wreck? Only about three or four of them (but only one was my fault)!!

38) Do you have an accent? I don’t think so, but friends up North think so!

39) What is the last song to make you cry? Darius Ruker’s “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” – I was pregnant and hormonal!

40) Plans tonight? Nope – going to my Mom and Dad’s to get the baby and maybe have dinner.

41) Have you ever felt like you hit rock bottom? Nope…don’t plan to either.

42) Name 3 things you bought yesterday? I actually bought a bunch of Mary Kay skin care – does that make me an old lady?

43) Have you ever been given roses? Yup…haven’t gotten any in awhile (JT are you reading this?)

44) Current hate right now? flabby baby fat that won't leave the belly region of my body, and my butt – it resembles the surface of the moon – lots of craters!

45) Met someone who changed your life? Yes – several people have influenced me greatly throughout my life.

46) How did you bring in the New Year? Knocked up! Just kidding, we had a few people over to our house.

47) What song represents you? Hmmm….maybe “Brown-eyed Girl” by CCR

48) What were you doing 12 AM last night? I was asleep! I capitalize on those moments now!

50) What was the first thing you thought of when you woke up? A wonderful baby boy…and a cookie! Now we know why my butt looks like the surface of the moon!

Back to Work

Well, yesterday was a sad day...I went back to work. After 7 wonderful weeks off with my little boy, I finally had to re-enter the world and go back to the office. I actually did better than I thought I would - I managed to show some restraint and call Mom (she's watching him the days she is home) only three times. I think had I not been leaving my pride and joy with my parents I might have had a small nervous breakdown, but knowing that he is in good hands (and likely being spoiled) eases my mind tremendously. Today, dropping him off was easier, and it is 10:45 and I've only called once :)

First Photo Shoot and a Milestone!

At 2 weeks of age Cole had his first photo shoot! Kelly Stocksen came to the house and spent well over 2 hours snapping wonderful pictures of our little man. Of course I'm bias, but there is not a single picture I don't like. She is a wonderful photographer and very patient with babies. I do have to give some credit to Cole Man (he's picked up a nickname); he did a really good job, but that could have been because 99% of the time he was asleep. And, speaking of sleep, three nights ago, May 23rd, at 5 weeks and 5 days, Cole slept the entire night. We put him down a little before midnight and he woke up at 6:15! Too bad he hasn't done it since, but it's a start!

My First Mother's Day!

It is still so hard for me to believe that I can now celebrate Mother's Day! I feel so unbelievably blessed to have not only a wonderful little boy, but a fantastic husband and partner in Cole's daddy. I gotta say, the two of them went above and beyond for this special holiday!

I had to get up and get around fairly early in order to get on the road to Nowata. My Memaw is still in the hospital and if I wanted to see her or my own mom (who pretty much spends all her time at the hospital) I had to head north 70 miles. I was pooped and I know JT was tired, too, due to a 4 am feeding, but he got up with me at 7 and made pancakes.

After we had breakfast the two men in my life gave me several amazing and thoughtful gifts. JT went to Things Remembered and had a Memory Box engraved. The box was to Cole from JT and me. It had his birth date engraved and a little message. It was so very sweet, and of course it made me cry. Next up was a jewelry box for me with Cole's birth date engraved. I opened the box to take a peek inside and there was a smaller box!! Inside was a BEAUTIFUL necklace with so much meaning! JT had a drop made that consisted of his birthstone (Alexandrite), mine (Garnet) and Cole's (diamond). I was speechless. There is no doubt the necklace is stunning, but the thought that JT put into the gift meant more to me than anything. Even when I'm not with my two men, there will be a constant reminder around my neck that the three of us have a special, unbreakable bond. Thank you guys for the the best first Mother's Day! I love you both more than you know!

The New Man in My Life!

Here he is - the new man in my life! These were taken this morning. Don't you just love his little pajamas?! I think he could definitely model for Carter's!!
