First Photo Shoot and a Milestone!

At 2 weeks of age Cole had his first photo shoot! Kelly Stocksen came to the house and spent well over 2 hours snapping wonderful pictures of our little man. Of course I'm bias, but there is not a single picture I don't like. She is a wonderful photographer and very patient with babies. I do have to give some credit to Cole Man (he's picked up a nickname); he did a really good job, but that could have been because 99% of the time he was asleep. And, speaking of sleep, three nights ago, May 23rd, at 5 weeks and 5 days, Cole slept the entire night. We put him down a little before midnight and he woke up at 6:15! Too bad he hasn't done it since, but it's a start!

My First Mother's Day!

It is still so hard for me to believe that I can now celebrate Mother's Day! I feel so unbelievably blessed to have not only a wonderful little boy, but a fantastic husband and partner in Cole's daddy. I gotta say, the two of them went above and beyond for this special holiday!

I had to get up and get around fairly early in order to get on the road to Nowata. My Memaw is still in the hospital and if I wanted to see her or my own mom (who pretty much spends all her time at the hospital) I had to head north 70 miles. I was pooped and I know JT was tired, too, due to a 4 am feeding, but he got up with me at 7 and made pancakes.

After we had breakfast the two men in my life gave me several amazing and thoughtful gifts. JT went to Things Remembered and had a Memory Box engraved. The box was to Cole from JT and me. It had his birth date engraved and a little message. It was so very sweet, and of course it made me cry. Next up was a jewelry box for me with Cole's birth date engraved. I opened the box to take a peek inside and there was a smaller box!! Inside was a BEAUTIFUL necklace with so much meaning! JT had a drop made that consisted of his birthstone (Alexandrite), mine (Garnet) and Cole's (diamond). I was speechless. There is no doubt the necklace is stunning, but the thought that JT put into the gift meant more to me than anything. Even when I'm not with my two men, there will be a constant reminder around my neck that the three of us have a special, unbreakable bond. Thank you guys for the the best first Mother's Day! I love you both more than you know!
